At the price point, this is one of the very best deals out there. With great specs (exactly as described in the item listing)

There are plenty of laptops out there that are this expensive with lower level specs without accessories that made this impossible for me to turn down. I didn’t regret it.

I give it 5/5 across the board with specifics below.

— FIRST THOUGHTS—
Upon first opening the laptop I was first impressed with the packaging! The box is one of those that looks so nice that you want to find an excuse to keep it. It came with a nice screen/keyboard cloth divider and a cloth “bag” which is nice enough that I still store the laptop in it to keep off dust. It also has a nice plastic layer protecting the lid from scratches. Which, personally, I intend to keep on as long as possible to prevent scratches and dings.

—THE LAPTOP—
On to the most impressive part! The laptop itself. I love the little details such as the start up screen with the MSI logo and the unique shape of the laptop.

-SPECS-
The first thing I did (after installing a good antivirus) was check to make sure the specs were as expected. With 550g SSD, 16g RAM, RTX 2060 Graphics, Intel i7 processor, and a 144hz refresh rate display, everything was exactly as I was expecting. I have never had an SSD before and am amazed at the download and update speed of even larger games.

-VISUALS & GRAPHICS-
The refresh rate is, well, 144hz which is amazing! With the wonderful RBG colors in the panel, the refresh rate, and the ability to run most games on high graphics - I couldn’t ask for more from this laptop’s visuals.

-TEMPERATURE-
Over the first few days I experienced my laptop getting quite hot playing even low demanding games, but I wasn’t worried because most new computers need time to fill in their gaming shoes. And, eventually, it did learn to cope! That being said, as with almost every gaming laptop, it does try to over heat playing demanding games for long periods of time. Thankfully, it is incredibly easy with the MSI Dragon Center to view the temperature of your CPU and GPU and adjust the speed of your fans to cool your laptop down rapidly. I will say that this is not the quietest fan you’ve ever heard, but it is an illusion to believe you will have a “cool” (temperature wise) gaming laptop with silent fans.

-MSI DRAGON CENTER-
Also with the MSI Dragon Center (which you can also download as an app on your phone to control with ease while gaming) you can change settings such as DPI for your mouse, your volume settings, such as gaming mode, theater mode, communication, music, etc. You can also change the RBG settings of the panel for similar circumstances, such as anti-blue for low impact on the eyes, a gaming mode and many more. You can also change the battery settings.

-BATTERY LIFE-
The battery life on this computer is typical of a gaming laptop - while you’re not going to be able to play through any game without plugging it in at some point, you do have a many hours of stagnant battery life. That is, leaving the laptop on for no reason kind of battery life. Another great thing about the MSI Dragon Center is the ability to control your battery and charging. Now you can safely keep your laptop plugged in without having to worry about destroying the battery life because it stops charging at a safe place best for battery health! This is customizable, so if charging to 100% is absolutely a must for you, no problem.

-KEYBOARD-
This laptop has red backlit keys that you can turn off and on, while the backlights do not have custom colors there are three brightness levels. The picture shown is on the lowest level. The keys themselves are black with red accents, which is a nice touch and little detail. It has a unique font that I’ve not seen before.

-PORTS-
This laptop has two USB ports and two of those new USB C ports. This laptop is equipped with the standard Ethernet port, headphone jack, and HDMI port. All located on the right side of the laptop with the exception of the HDMI which is on the left.
